The Other Woman
Updated: May 13
Feeling like the other woman
The one that takes the second seat
Or third or fourth or maybe fifth
No one there to hold her
In all of her wildness and wickedness
In all of her wondrousness
In all of the ever-changing emotions
That seem to be coming up harder and faster each day
The other woman
Clinging desperately to the slut role
If she cannot be the wife
Then she must at least be promiscuous
To avoid being completely redundant
In the eyes of a man
The other woman
When push comes to shove
She will get thrown out first
Thrust to the side when shit hits the fan
The hidden relationship
Left voiceless
The other woman
The guilty pleasure
The one the men hide
From their partners they would fight for
The wives they would lie for
The crumbling marriage they would die for
To provide the spice
In bored men’s lives
A brief exchange
Moments of fun
With a whore
Who leaves by dawn
The other woman
Replaceable
Forgettable
Invisible
My desires, diminishable
Who is here to listen to my feelings?
Who is here to hold me?
When I feel left out
When I feel like trash
No one to turn to
No one to wipe salted tears
No one to grow with over the years
The last thing on no one's mind
